Meet Kathy Stroud

I am married and am the mother of three successful young adults. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA in Sociology with an adjunct program in Business Administration. I’ve lived in a few different states and have lived abroad as an exchange student. While I wasn’t born in Colorado, I chose to live most of my adult life here in Westminster, about 30 years.

I am currently a local small business owner and previously was in education both as a Substitute Teacher in the Jefferson County Schools and as a Corporate Trainer who educated employees from many different companies in personal finance skills, budgeting, and achieving their goals. In addition, I was the Campaign Coordinator, Scheduler, and Office Manager for a US Senate Race and a US Congressional Race. I was basically the “right-hand man” for the candidate doing a variety of tasks as needed, including scheduling, event planning, fundraising, procuring campaign materials, and speaking on behalf of the candidate.

I have also volunteered extensively in my kids’ schools and with both the Boy and Girl Scouts. I was the Treasurer for my son’s Boy Scout Troop and the Leader of my daughters’ Girl Scout Troop. In both troops, I handled the finances, coordinated events, came in under budget, and met all required deadlines. I have managed my son’s baseball team and have served as Team Mom for many of my kid’s sports teams. In addition, I served on an HOA committee and am currently an officer for my House District.

My commitment to Westminster isn't new. I have been a long-time community advocate, helping people to take control of their lives in every position I have held, either paid or volunteer.

I am running for City Council because I am tired of seeing our city not live up to its potential. I have helped people on a one-on-one basis all my life and I believe that I can translate that skill to the community at large. It is time to champion public safety, restore common sense, and ensure our city government is accountable to its residents. We need better government now.

I look forward to earning your vote and working together to build a brighter future for Westminster. It's time to Take Back Westy!
